Answering your hotel and travel-related questions

Recently, a friend who travels frequently asked me why Hilton Garden Inn charges for breakfast when "so many other" hotels do not, and he asked me if we had ever considered offering our breakfast for free. I answered his question (which has to do with branding and brand positioning amongst the larger hotel chains and is a long, drawn-out answer that I will gladly go into in a later blog post), but the question itself got me thinking:

Many travellers, even frequent travellers, are overwhelmed by the wide variety of choices in hotels, reservation methods, travel websites, and information sources. In truth, with the launching of sites like Kayak.com (although it is a very handy tool), the landscape only gets more complicated, not less. Even when travellers identify what they consider to be the best way to book travel or the best brands to stick with, the complexities of travel today can raise more questions than available answers.

Someone needs to answer those questions! And if we here at the HGI Mayfaire can be of service to our guests and other travellers, we would be honored to be your source for those answers. So twice a week, Tuesdays and Fridays, we will field your travel questions. Our knowledgeable management team has over 60 years combined experience in the travel and tourism industry in hotels, restaurants, and travel agencies--and if we don't know the answer to your question, we'll find out! Feel free to email us your frustrations and prior experiences, good or bad, as well, and we'll address those--your experiences can be invaluable to others!
So email your questions, comments, and frustrations to hgimayfaire@gmail.com and look for the answers in this space next Tuesday.

Thanks for reading! Happy Holidays!

Scott
