Our Facebook account has been up and running now for over a year, but our Twitter account was started in August, and today our blog is born--it's been a long time coming.
It's been an eventful fall. I arrived in Wilmington just in time for the Hurricane Earl scare (talk about sound and fury), and we have been extremely busy ever since. We have had the pleasure of hosting several youth sports teams; CAA volleyball, cross country, and soccer teams; and a host of groups and individual guests of all kinds, and we appreciate your business more than you know.
We have had the opportunity to welcome new staff members, as well. Janele Hurley came to us in September from the Charlotte area to fill the very crucial corporate sales position; Eric Brown joined our front desk staff a few weeks ago; and we welcomed our new sales coordinator, Lane Cuthrell, into the fold just this morning. We know that these folks are going to be integral parts of our team, and welcome to all!
The future holds some exciting developments for us, also. Our restaurant is adding a 60" plasma television this week for all of our sports fans and prime time TV junkies; our newly constructed patio and putting green are nearing completion as we finalize the purchase of brand new patio furniture and the landscaping contract (look for the grand opening celebration in early spring); our fitness center is getting a full renovation at the end of this month; and we have even more substantial changes coming in the first quarter of 2011.
Amidst all of these changes, though, we have remained the same. We still offer the same great product and service that you have become accustomed to from us. We still provide the best hotel value for the dollar in the southeastern North Carolina. We maintain our strong commitment to and love for our Wilmington/Cape Fear community. And we still love our guests, our neighbors, and our friends.
We'll discuss some of those changes here. We'll discuss some of those constants. Overall, this is a blog about our hotel (our people, our activities, and our property), our community, and happenings in the Wilmington tourism industry as a whole. Let us know what you think--we love the feedback!
Scott
